Kaori Sakamoto's first day practice report copied from 2017-2018 State of Japanese Ladies Skating

It's a bit strange that the Olympics are just around the corner, yet people are discussing juniors.
Asahi news reports that Kaori had her first practice on Olympic ice. She had the rink all to herself! Her main impression was that the venue is huge. The interior color scheme is purple. She made some jump errors in the second half of her short programme and concentrated on correcting that.

Is there truth in the reports that the Norovirus is starting to spread amongst the athletes? I saw a report that 1,200 are bring sequestered into their rooms and around 40 people are being quarantined. That can’t be right can it? :scratch:

The American women on their first practice on Olympic ice - getting used to it in the first half but much more secure in the second half of this practice

I read a report that 1200 guards got hit with Norovirus. Nothing about athletes. Ugh! Worse feeling ever to have that

Like winky97 said, those were security guards, not athletes. 40 or so came down with the virus, the others are being quarantined because they may have been exposed. They replaced them with 900 army members.

I wouldn't worry just yet. Most of the skaters had up and down practice sessions day 1. Nathan said in an ice network interview that he was just getting the ice under him. I think he'll be fine! Hoping the same for all the U.S. skaters!

This does not bode well with Patrick. No triple axel so sad tosee him seem like an afterthought. His programs suck this year; he is not as familiar with them because they are both new, they don't shwo off his trengths really sad.
