Fentz won the Men SP with 71.42. Jagoda is second with 67 points.
Poor performance by Starostin who only scored 57.65: falls on the combo and on the solo 3F, URs on the 3F and on the second jump of the combo, q on the 3A

Rhythm Dance won by Janse/Steffan over Muller/Dieck by 2 points. Muller's twizzle at level 2 with negative GOE made the difference

Interesting. Janse Van Rensburg/Steffan could upset Mueller/Dieck (2x National Champs). They have yet to win a title. Looks like Mueller had a problem with the twizzles (Level 2) but anything can happen in the FD.

Does anyone know if Jonathan Hess is still skating? Haven't seen him since Challenge Cup in February 2020 I believe.

Expected winners for Men, Women and Pair: Fentz, Schott and Hase/Seegert)

Janse van Rensburg/Steffan won Dance over Muller/Dieck by 2 points.
Muller/Dieck won the race for Olympic and European selection though given it was based on the sum of Nationals and 2 highest scoring GPs or Challenger events.

Those two ice dance teams are really close in ability. I was wondering who they were going to choose. I'm kind of glad it was M/D because they'd been consistently ahead of J/S until now, although I like J/S, too.

I read somewhere that he doesn`t compete any more. I don`t know why. So sorry about that.

I believe he went to university next to skating, I guess he decided to focus on that, especially with the uncertainty last season. What a pity, I thought he had good chances to succeed Paul Fentz once he retires.

I remember those Challenge Cup performances very well. He was particularly impressive in the SP (iirc second after the short). He had some problems in the FS, and ended in 5th. It was a good result all-in-all because there was quite a deep men's field.

I think that I read in Pirouette magazine that he would be retiring (but I don't recall which issue) to go to study.
