Yep, I was right. Skater #16 was missing from Group 3.

But we have the full quota of 7 skaters for Group 4.

Anyway, she is wearing a beautiful black dress with tassles.

She looks upset waiting for her scores. I'm not sure if she's crying, or if she has something in her eye.

She goes into 9th position.

It disappeared when Skater #21 came off the ice, and hasn't returned. Is Skater #22 skating to "The Sound Of Silence"?

EDIT: Skater #23 was skating to "The Sound Of Silence" too! Maybe one of them did the Simon & Garfunkel original, and the other did Disturbed's cover.​

Just watched the first of the boys, and as soon as I saw his name I thought "Bet you he is the brother of the second of those two Chicks II girls with Slavic names. The one that didn't have her cuddly toys taken from her, and who finished higher than the one that did".

I haven't been able to find out for definite if Dima and Katya are siblings, but they have the same coaching setup. So, I would say they are.

And we lost the sound again just before Skater #13 started his programme.

But it came back when he was waiting for his scores.

And just as well that it did. Because Darth Vader was skating next!

I just wanted to add, although I have not been able to find out for definite, I am nearly sure that Skaters #5 and #12 are brothers. In fact, they look so alike that I wouldn't be surprised if they were twins.

And there was not much to separate them in the competition. They finished in 13th and 14th positions, with just a quarter of a point between them!

Day 2 consists of a Basic Novice quadruple-bill; followed by a Intermediate Novice double-bill. The Basic Novice quadruple-bill consists of 15 older girls; followed by 18 middle girls; followed by a dinner break; followed by 22 younger girls; followed by 18 boys. The 15 older girls are arranged into a group of 7; followed by a group of 8.

This is funny. Skater #7 was skating to the music that used to be played on loop during the resurfacings at the Bosphorus Cup.

Can't remember the name of the piece or who the composer was. But, it is far better than what they played during the resurfacings this year! (And that goes for both the Bosphorus Cup and here at the Ephesus Cup!)

There are some disadvantages to playing a character. Skater #14 was wearing a Tarzan style outfit. And one of the cuddly toys she got thrown down was a big long snake.

She went into 10th position.

As I said umpteen times last year, I am not a big Elvis fan, but even I would have preferred to be hearing him than hearing that.

This is interesting. We have two occasions in this competition where there are consecutive skaters with the same first name.

The first is now, with Skaters #2 and #3, who are both called Beren.

The first Beren was skating to "Seven Nation Army".

It was not a great skate. That she would get 2 points in deductions (where each offence is worth half a point) should say it all.

Oh no. Skater #2 is crying her eyes out. Her coach (who doesn't look that old herself) is trying to comfort her, but the wee girl is just too upset.

Another skater has come in and gave her a massive hug. But, she's still upset.

She has still managed to go into the lead. So it will be interesting to see how long it lasts for.
